Albany Associates 2011-2012

In September, the Albany Associates began their year at their new venue - the "upper room" at St. Vincent DePaul Church. How pleased we were to enter our new sacred space and to be greeted by the life-sized statue of the Sacred Heart. We are anticipating receiving many graces here and our grateful to the staff at St. Vincent's for allowing us to use their facility.

Our initial meeting had as its theme "Forgiveness and being a Source of Love". This was most appropriate as our meeting took place on the ten year anniversary of the tragedy which occured at the World Trade Center in New York City. Our meeting concluded by joining others for a very moving interfaith prayer service which was held at St. Rose's Howard Hubbard Interfaith Chapel located just down the road from St. Vincent's.

Our October meeting will be held at Sprout Creek Farm located in Poughkeepsie, New York. At that time we anticipate being joined by a few other women who have expressed an interest in joining our Associate group.

On May 24, 2010, the seven Albany Associates renewed their commitment at a liturgy held in the Teresian House chapel. This was followed by a celebratory lunch in the Capitol Lounge. How happy we were to have many of the RSCJ join us for the festivities! We were just as happy to reciprocate and to join them as they renewed their vows at a liturgy on the Feast of the Sacred Heart at St. John/ St Anne's Parish. This was followed by a delicious meal served in the church hall.

At our June meeting we finalized the calendar for next year. We will be making use of the "Heartfulness" program with Father Thomas Keating. The dates and topics are as follows:

prayer in preparation for May 23, 2011: Our renewal of Commitment
